Within the Los Banos FFA Chapter, the biggest fundraiser of the year is the Sweetheart Balloon fundraiser in which heart-shaped balloons are purchased and delivered around Valentine’s Day.  The four candidates this year include Freshmen candidate, Jadie Beltran, Sophomore candidate, Ryann Vierra, Junior candidate, Chloe Emerson, and Senior candidate, Belen Gonzalez.

The candidates will be selling balloons until February 5th throughout the community. Balloon fliers have been placed at local businesses or you can call the ag department at Los Banos High School if you are interested in purchasing balloons. The mylar heart-shaped balloons are four dollars each or a bouquet of five balloons is on sale for twenty dollars. These balloons will be delivered on February 9th, 10th, 13th, and 14th.

The Sweetheart Dinner is Friday, February 17th, 2017 in the Los Banos High School Multi Purpose Room.  The 2017 Sweetheart will be announced in which will receive a belt buckle, scholarship, Crown/Sash, and name put on the perpetual trophy that was donated by the Carlucci Family. In addition, all four of the candidates will be part of Los Banos FFA history.

This fundraiser will help support the over 80 activities that are carried out within the chapter every year. This includes all aspects of the FFA program whether it be in the classroom or at competitions, leaderships conferences, or field days at the local, state, and national level.

The chapter is excited to support these candidates and promote the balloon sales. The Los Banos FFA Chapter would like to thank the entire community of Los Banos for their continuous and overwhelming support in the FFA’s career and technical education.
