2023 Track and Field Season To Start

Spring is upon us, which means our 2023 track season is soon to start. Our track team is lead by Jose Luna who is the main coach of the team. As a senior who will be returning to track this season I’m really excited for what is in store for us. With track being one of my favorite sports, I’m really looking forward to all the other meets we’re going to as well as having a chance at making it to masters this year and improve from the last season.

With the new track season starting soon, let’s see what our other senior returners have to say about their last year not only running for, but what it means to them to compete for Los Banos.

Nathan Andrade, one of LBHS’s long jumpers said, “I am very excited for this year. I feel as if I will do better than ever. I want to use this season to prove any potential I’ve seen in myself in the past. I am also excited to see my friends and teammates go to state this year.”

Mark Carreiro, one LBHS’s top student athletes who was ranked among the top 5 in the county for hurdles and went on to compete in masters describes his hopes for his last year. “Last year of high school and last year of track. Last season I came short of state, and so this season means everything to be the best. I look forward to the duels, tournaments, and trips with the boys in our last year and last season.”

Our track stars seem more excited than ever to step back onto the track and compete. So with the season only a few days away from starting, we can only have high hopes for our track stars to go all out and win for LBHS.
