Teacher of 29 years, Mrs. Pamela Snively moved from English teacher to learning director starting th2 2023-2024 school year.
Snively has always been passionate about education. Being a teacher is one of her most rewarding experiences, but to leave the classroom for an administration job was an easy decision for her. She could still work in education, and she wanted to try something new to help students and teachers on a “bigger venue” in different ways. Snively feels that one of her advantages for her new position is seeing first hand what a teacher needs and wants during the year to be success.
She said, “I am most excited to find a way to make programs better for teachers and students.” She said she wants to make a better environment for everyone and make improvements where needed, hoping that everything can be improved.
As learning director, Snively is responsible for testing and data, student programs for example like the ROAR program which Snively initiated last year, and some discipline of students. She also oversees the English, Physical Education, and AP departments along with 18 individual student programs. Snively said she will miss seeing and talking to students everyday.
Snively’s advice to present and future students is to be grounded in good values with a stable mindset and be happy by enjoying your time in high school. She said students will succeed if they have a good mindset and are happy throughout their year.
Snively said her next goal is to teach at a college level but still stay in some form of education even after she is eligible to retire.
