Alumni Mrs. Kasey Quevedo joins the Los Banos High School staff for the 2023-24 school year as a history teacher.
Quevedo was inspired by former teacher of Los Banos High School Mr. McNalley, along with current teacher Mr. Tomas to pursue a teaching job in the history department. Her hometown roots and love for history is what has led her to this job.
Teaching history was her first choice when she considered her future in teaching at the high school level. She has been a substitute teacher in the Los Banos area prior to her first full time teaching job as of this year. Her favorite part about teaching is “making students like history.” Quevedo strives to make her class exciting by “taking history off the page.”
Quevedo graduated from Los Banos High School in 2014. After high school she attended CSU Stanislaus. After a short break from college, she returned and attended the University of Arizona Global College online classes and graduated in 2021 with a degree in history, while working for her Master’s.
From there Quevedo moved from Turlock to San Francisco. Now back in Los Banos, she has begun the new year as a Geography/Pre-AP World history teacher. Returning to campus now as a teacher instead of a student, Quevedo is looking most forward to final exams! She works hard in making sure that her classes are “fun and approachable.”
She has been married for four years. While she and her husband do not have any kids, they do have two fur-babies, miniature Australian Shepherds are named Benji and Charlie. Quevedo also has two older brothers. Some of her hobbies include hiking with her dogs, collecting plants, and traveling.
Make sure to welcome her to campus. She is in room 3.
