Our new assistant principal Mrs. Megan Punt was hired this year. She decided to become an assistant principal because she is passionate about parents and students well being and success. She is not new to the school because she graduated from LBHS and chose to come back to our campus as an assistant principal.
Mrs. Punt’s duties/role as assistant principal are student discipline, parent complaints, and overseeing 9/10th graders, as well as the administrator contact for the departments of Agriculture, science, foreign language, and various other programs. Her days are about holding everyone accountable.
Mrs. Punt had said, “I may come off as harsh, mean, and/or strict. However, the safety of students and staff is my main concern. School is a place to come to learn and it is important that this is our main focus on a daily basis.”
She is happily married and has been for fourteen years. She has two children, a boy who is 13 and a girl who is 10. She has a Golden Doodle dog named Harlee. She also has family working in the education field. She came from a household where Portuguese was the main language. Both her parents were very supportive and thought education was very important.
Mrs. Punt has a total of 15 years of education experience. She worked as an Ag teacher for seven years at both Waterford High and Turlock High. After, she had worked at Stanislaus Military Academy as an in school suspension teacher, as well as an Independent studies teacher and then at Juvenile Hall as a teacher.
Mrs. Punt is excited to help all students and parents in this new school year and welcomes everyone with open arms to come and talk to her if needed or to just stop by in the main office and say hi.
