Mrs. Tami Aeria joins the Los Banos High School office staff as an administrative assistant.
As the new administrative assistant, some of the tasks that Aeria takes on include assigning substitutes for all staff that are absent as well as arranging Principal Jason Waltman’s meetings throughout the day. Not only does Aeria help with the administration and staff, she also helps when it comes to organizing prom and other school events.
When asked how her abilities can improve Los Banos High School, Aeria stated, “Keeping the communication open with the staff so they constantly know what’s going on.” Aeria hopes to achieve a stable form of communication for administrators to staff.
Several factors led Aeria to Los Banos High School. One important reason is the chemistry that she had built with Principal Waltman while at Henry Miller Elementary, where they both worked together. Although while growing up, her intention was not to become an administrative assistant, she knew that had wanted to be some type of secretary as she progressed through school. Being raised around a mom with strict work ethics led her to decide her career path.
Aeria has worked within the Los Banos School district for twenty-eight years at numerous primary schools, most recently Henry Miller. She had planned on retiring, but had the urge to attempt secondary school level. When questioned about her transition from primary school to secondary school Aeria stated, “I go home exhausted, but I love it.”
She loves the busier workload that secondary school provides and appreciates the staff for being so welcoming and supportive. Going into secondary school for the first time in Aeria’s career, the thought of multiple periods was one of her biggest concerns, but believes she would’ve come to secondary school a lot sooner with the knowledge she now knows.
Being a former primary school administrative assistant, Aeria gets to see many of her former students that are currently in secondary school. When asked how she feels seeing former primary school students on campus today, Aeria expressed, “It makes me happy just seeing them grow up to be amazing young adults.”
She unofficially started last year in hopes to learn more about the office prior to the beginning of the school year. She enjoyed being able to shadow the class of 2023’s prom and seeing her former students graduate.
Something that Aeria loves to do is collect high heels and has been doing so since a very young age. Other than collecting heels, Aeria appreciates the time that she gets to spend with her five grandchildren that are all around ages from 2nd grade to 8th grade. She enjoys taking her grandchildren on vacation, referring to them as her “world.”
Make sure to stop by the main office and give Mrs. Aeria a warm, Tiger welcome.
