Fabio Daniele is a 16 year old junior student who attends Los Banos High School as a transfer student from Muenzenberg, Germany.
Daniele had always wanted to live in a different country to see the different cultures and lifestyles of people in different settings. This year he got his wish granted and was able to come to the U.S. and live the life of a high school student in America.
The process for Daniele to come to the U.S. was to have good grades and have permission from his guardians to come to America. Now that he has been here for a month some of the things he likes that Germany does not have are American football and fast food restaurants such as Wendys. Although he loves many things that America does have to offer he does miss certain things from his home country like his dog, Donna, and his family.
While staying in America, Daniele stays with the Goodger family. He stated, “My host family has been fantastic to me and has made my experience here so much fun and enjoyable.”
Daniele and his host family have been to San Francisco, Monterey and plan to visit Las Vegas and Tahoe. Although those places are fantastic, one place he really wants to take a trip to is Los Angeles.
His high school experience so far has been great and fun. He stated, “I love how school is super supportive towards sports and more relaxed and not stressful.”
Some of Daniele’s favorite hobbies are playing soccer/football and running which is why he plans to play for the school soccer team this winter and do track and field as well during the spring.
Daniele does miss his home country, but in the future when he is older, he does plan to come back and visit America once again.
