A new Success 101 teacher was hired to assist students to do better in life. Her name is Ms. Charmain Fillmore.
Fillmore relocated from Colorado to California because she had the opportunity to be closer to her grand kids.
Ms. Fillmore has been a teacher since 1984 to 2016 where she worked at the Department of Corrections until she retired. This was a total of 32 years. Then in 2016, she was hired to teach kindergarten to fifth grade. During this time, Covid hit and she taught two remote classes for first and second grade.
As the new Success 101 teacher, she instructs students in the following areas, study skills, FEV Tutor program, and one day a week on math, and another day to get caught up in other classes.
Ms. Fillmore received a MA-TED Masters in Teaching Education, a BSBM Bachelor Degree in Business Management, Human Resources Certificate, and an AA Associates Degree in General Studies from the University of Phoenix. Ms. Fillmore has her Department of Labor Apprenticeship in Industrial Housekeeping, Colorado Community College Vocational Credentials in Horticulture, Floriculture, and Industrial Housekeeping.
Ms. Fillmore taught Colorado Community College Courses at the Colorado Department of Corrections in the following vocational programs: Horticulture, Floriculture, and Industrial Housekeeping, Basic Computer Literacy, and Colorado Department of Flagging (CDOT) .
Ms. Fillmore is a Pueblo County High School graduate.
Fillmore enjoys swimming, bike riding, participating in many activities with her grand kids, fishing, farming and ranching, and raising miniature Hereford cattle in Colorado. She also has rescued donkeys and goats. She is a fan of animals.
She is very excited as well as happy to be working with a supportive staff at LBHS. She would like to see her students succeed.
