It’s been a year since the Los Banos district announced plans to update the Loftin football stadium and after lots of hard work, the first phase was completed in June and the ribbon ceremony was held September 21. Visitors were able to tour the facility.
The stadium is being built in three phases; the first one was a concession stand, equipment storage rooms, bathrooms, and two team rooms for the Tigers and any visitor. Phase 2 will include installing turf for the football field and an all weather track. The third phase was a new sound system, stands, and press box areas.
When Jackson Silva, a senior football player said, “I like what they’ve done to the front of the stadium. I think it’s long overdue and shows respect towards the football team. The locker rooms are super nice and a huge upgrade from before. But I’m also happy I got to finish my senior year on the grass field. I like new beginnings but I’m glad I have the field I’ve played on my whole life.”
So far it’s been positive feedback from the players, community, and students. Brandon Diaz (12) said what he likes about the new upgrade is “I like how visually appealing it is and the aesthetics of the entrance. It’s just unfortunate how I won’t be here to see everything else upgraded.”
Evan Rebosa (12) a football player added, “I think that it’s very cool and a good step in LB’s future.”
So come check out the Loftin stadium whenever there’s a game to experience the renovations or simply to have a good time.
