Pickle Ball Club is a brand new, never before seen club on campus created by a group of friends by the names of Jett Lindeman (12), Caleb Robertson (12), Cole Ramos (12), and myself, David Herrera (12).
Cole Ramos, the president of the club said, “I chose to start a pickle ball club at school because I wanted to introduce a fun and accessible sport to our fellow students that promotes physical activity and social interaction. Additionally, I recognized the growing popularity of pickle ball and saw an opportunity to create a community within our school that fosters teamwork, friendly competition, and overall well-being.”
The club members started playing pickle ball together about three months ago and it turned into a repetitive activity that they all enjoyed. They started making tournament brackets and inviting more friends to come play which made it very fun and extremely competitive. This is what sparked an idea in starting a pickle ball club on campus because the players wanted to share the experience of playing pickle ball with fellow students.
Caleb Robertson, the treasurer of the club stated, “It was a cool hobby on the side that turned out to be pretty enjoyable and competitive. I decided to be an officer just to try and get more people to play the game of pickle ball,” when asked what sparked his interest in pickle ball and becoming an officer of the club.
Make sure to check out the Pickle Ball Club and possibly join if you are interested in the pickle ball game experience! The advisor for the club is Mr. Dustin Caropreso. Feel free to go to him or the club officers for questions.
