Choir has multiple events happening throughout the fall season, the Tenor Bass Festival and an audition to the California Choral Directors Association Central Region Honor Choir. On September 14, 2023 choir members were invited to Fresno State University to participate in their annual Tenor Bass Festival. Over 200 students across the state were invited, including members from Pacheco High School’s choir.
The event started at 9 in the morning and ended at 1 in the afternoon. The choir members performed two pieces by composer Timothy C. Takach. The pieces performed were “Empty” and “Goodbye, Then.”
During the first hour and a half, Takach assisted the ensemble as a group, then at 10:30 the choir members were taken to individual sections to work on their music parts. The choir worked with Dillion Nelson, a bass 2 section leader, from 10:30 to 11. After working on their music parts, each section banded together to perform the piece.
One specific member from choir, Grady Roberts (11) was accepted into the California Choral Directors Association Central Region Honor Choir which will take place sometime in November if Roberts audition makes the cut. The audition song Roberts performed is “Caro Mìo Ben” created by Tommaso Giordani, accompanied piano player, Mr. Cavazos.
