The girls tennis team had their senior night on October 18, and won 9-0 against Johansson and ended the season in second place. The tennis team took a win overall for their last league game of the season. It was also some of these girls’ very last league and home games for their high school career.
The girls worked hard all season to train and get better to improve. It was some of these girls first time playing tennis including Ava Menefee who worked hard to be ranked at number two doubles with her partner Brianna Iniguez. Menefee stated, “I had so much fun playing tennis and I’m super glad I came out to play.”
Menefee has had a fun and exciting time being on the team for the first time and has many memories. What made the team most memorable for her was getting to know her doubles partner Brianna and laughing through all of their matches. Overall, she’s had good experience being on the team and loved the team dinners.
Senior, Kloe Cotta is also the number one player on the team. She is going on to play in college. Cotta has played for the team all four years and has enjoyed getting better and making connections over the years. Her senior season had a rough start when she had knee surgery and was out for the beginning of the season. However, she made a quick recovery and has led the team to victory. Cotta stated, “My favorite part about being on the team is traveling with the team to playoffs.”
