The annual fall art show is happening on campus on November 3. If you like art and would like to check it out, go to the Multi-purpose building (MPB) from 10:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. This art show is only open to the staff and students.
Art teacher, Mrs. Trinidad Gallegos stated, ”This fall art show is really about celebrating Halloween, fall, and Dia de Los Muertos. This year my students got to choose their own culture to celebrate.”
The art show has been going on for more than ten years with different art teachers. The only years that the art show didn’t happen was during covid. The art shows that are put on campus take a lot of work, but the art department doesn’t mind because it is rewarding for the teachers and students to see the students’ artworks on display.
This art show is displaying different art forms. The following groups will be in attendance:
- Mrs. Alyssa Zorra’s Drama Club
- Mr. Dillon Nelson’s Guitar class
- Mrs. Danielle Cavazos’ Piano Class
- The foreign language department
- There will be one piece of artwork from every student in every art class on campus.
Gallegos’ class is showing their different art techniques that they have learned so far this year with sculptures and photography. Mr. Josh Danner class is showing either a drawing or painting and with digital media is a photoshopped picture or a video. Mrs. Sarah Sagouspe’s visual design class will be showing a project that they have created in class with either pencil, paper, ink and painting.
Sagouspe stated, ”We have some very talented students on our campus who would otherwise go unnoticed. Our annual art shows are a chance to showcase their amazing talents!”
Art club is having a fundraiser during pride and lunch on November 3 to raise money for activities. They are selling hot chocolate for two dollars, with a dollar extra for toppings. For every cup of hot chocolate, students can decorate their cup.
The next art show on April 25 will be open until 6 p.m. Also the art club will host Kona Ice on campus after school during the spring art show. So if you like art, stop by and go look at all the art that will be displayed.
