Introducing flowers para ella – a budding student-owned business that brings the timeless beauty of flowers to life through various arrangements made to order!
Founded by Valery Hernandez (12), a creative and ambitious student entrepreneur, this blossoming business offers meticulously crafted flower arrangements that go beyond mere bouquets.
Flowers para ella specializes in floral displays for various special occasions, more specifically, school dances such as Homecoming and Prom. Offerings include fresh flower bouquets, corsages (mainly for Prom season) and even eternal flowers, which are flowers made out of ribbon rather than fresh cut flowers.
Valery has had a vision for a floral business ever since last year – but it finally came to life this year. She has always enjoyed working with flowers and wanted to turn her passion into a business. “One day I was just like, why not?” said Valery.
I asked Valery what her favorite part about running flowers para ella would be. She replied, “When somebody has their vision [for an order], I like to incorporate my own vision to create something that shows my own personality as well, something beautiful.”
Valery also added that taking a floral class this year played a part in her business. The class gave her a “little push” of motivation to run her business.
Nonetheless, as blissful as running a floral business may seem, it’s not an easy job. Flowers need specific handling and care. “When working with fresh flowers, you have to be so gentle and make sure to give proper care, water, and cut them correctly.’ says Valery. “It’s harder to work with them since the biggest thing is that they have to be balanced.”
When asked what her favorite thing that she sells is, Valery replied, “Bouquets, because they are so pretty and have so much personality based on which colors you use, so each bouquet is different.”
As for the future, flowers para ella is looking forward to blooming into a successful business. Valery wants to gain more publicity for her flower offerings, and is looking forward to experimenting with new orders. “Always more to learn, more to make.” she said.
Our interview ended on an inspirational note, with Valery offering a few words to future student entrepreneurs who would like to own a business of their own someday, “Do it. There’s nothing to lose. You’ll only fail if you give up.”
This is only the beginning of a blossoming business! flowers para ella is the perfect choice for upcoming events such as Winter Formal and Prom. Make sure to place your orders on Instagram @flowersparaella. Valery is open to ideas and willing to make your desired arrangements come to life.
