Christmas is almost around the corner with three weeks left in total to get friends and family presents! I have always wondered, what is the average price to spend on someone for Christmas? 

From asking many classmates, a lot of them have asked for clothing such as hoodies and pants or also some new shoes. A lot of the girls have asked for makeup and for books while the boys have asked for Fortnite battle passes and v-bucks. On my Christmas list, I agree with both getting Fortnite money and new skins, while also getting some new clothes and makeup. I love making stocking stuffer baskets for my friends. When asking around my classmates what they wished for, it reminded me of giving stocking stuffers such as mugs, fuzzy socks, candles, and some candy. If I were to buy any of these items for fellow friends, the average cost would range from $15-$30 on a basket. 

I know a common gift to give to friends and family is gift cards. From experience with buying them, common ones are typically Sephora/Ulta, Target, Bath and Body Works, Tillys, McDonalds, or any fast food restaurants in general. Gift cards usually range prices from $25-$100. 

Things for Christmas this year, if you would want something a little more pricey, could possibly be a new phone, any subscriptions or new memberships, new Playstations or Xboxes, Nintendo Switch, or even just nice clothing. With these items, prices could range from $100-$500.  

When asking classmates how much they spend on friends or family, they said that they range from $50-$250 on one person. At first, I was shocked because it seems very high, but then thinking about it, many people buy different things from different price ranges, high and low. Advice for this year’s holiday shopping is create a planned budget and visit different stores or online websites to make the most of your spending experience.
