It’s officially holiday season, so tis the season for holiday dates!
Some affordable if not free date ideas include baking cookies, pizza night, making pizzas from scratch in the shape of snowmen, gingerbread house making, movie night, and driving around neighborhoods to see Christmas lights.
The only thing that would cost money is the ingredients or food for the baking cookies, pizza night, movie night, and making the gingerbread houses.
Most gingerbread houses come as kits so there isn’t much extra you would need to purchase.
Movie night is pretty simple, pick some Christmas movies, blankets, and you can of course purchase snacks of your liking and maybe even matching pajamas!
Baking cookies and pizza night are also pretty simple, the only things you would need to spend money on are the ingredients.
Driving around to see lights is also an affordable way to create memories with your significant other and catching some beautiful views, the only thing that may cost money is gas. It’s also a great opportunity to take cute couples pictures.
Senior Nevaeh Prado said, “My favorite holiday date so far with my partner has been driving around to see the lights. There’s one specific house that we know of that goes all out with the lights and decorations, and we were able to take some really cute pictures together with the lights as a background, and it was a memory I will never forget.”
Now as for places to go there are many options, some including going to Christmas In The Park. This attraction is in San Jose, and it happens once every year and is free to walk through. The only things you may spend money on is Christmas In The Park merchandise that you can purchase there or food and drinks. They are very well known for their hot cocoa.
Senior Adan Salaz said, “A place I’ve been to is Christmas in the Park. It’s more of a sightseeing date, meaning you’d be looking at the different lights and trees that are displayed. It’s a fun date especially if you’re looking for something cheap because it’s free to go. The only expense would be the food and gas, so the price range is really up to you and how much you’d like to spend on food.”
Something that is also a fun attraction is Great America, during the holiday season, the theme is all about Christmas and the park is filled with Christmas lights. They call this Winterfest and they add an ice skating rink in the park. Great America is located in Santa Clara right next to the Levi 49ers stadium. The tickets are a bit pricey depending on how many you purchase, but it is a fun date idea to enjoy the rides and see pretty Christmas lights.
Senior David Herrera said, “My favorite date has been going to Christmas in the park with my girlfriend and getting Pho after. We also went ice skating not too far from Christmas in the Park, and it was a really fun night and a memory with her I won’t forget.”
