Los Banos High School Winter guard is having their first performance at Beyer High School in Modesto on January 20, 2024. The performance is from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.  Admission is free.

The piece the team members are performing is called I Can Do Anything/Finale by Christopher Lennertz and Arrival of the Birds by The Cinematic Orchestra and The London Metropolitan Orchestra. Frances Vargas (Color Guard Tech) said the inspiration of the piece was  “seeing our students attempt new things, failing at first, then succeeding over time (rising from the ashes)” Vargas and Leila Melgar (Head Auxiliary Units advisor) believe the performance difficulty is intermediate or a “7/10” on the difficult scale.

The team has been perfecting their performance since late November and early December of 2023. When asked if the team is ready to perform Melgar said, “Honestly no. They [the team] need more technical and performance work. I wish to add props and other elements that may enhance the show.” While Vargas said, “As ready as we can be for the first show.”  

“Your mom will love it! Come see us at Champs at Enochs High School in Modesto April 6, 2024.” said Vargas promoting their final show of the Winter Guard season 2024.
