College football has been crazy this season with the Big 10 conference coming to an end and most colleges entering playoffs with fully stacked rosters and great coaching.
Going into the playoffs, the favorite team to go to the national championship was Michigan, having an amazing season being undefeated in the regular season. Although their runner up Washington was also undefeated, fans and sports analysts such as Pat McAfee were thinking their chances were going to be slim due to smaller schools in the playoffs not performing to the high level that other teams play.
When it came down to the game Washington had to face the favored Texas Longhorns to go to the championship who is a very talented team with a great coaching staff. This was going to be a good challenge. To everyone’s surprise, Washington made it look easy beating Texas 37-31, fighting all the way to the final second causing Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers to throw an incomplete pass to seal the win.
With Washington coming out on top, the win allowed them to finally make it to the national championship after a 30 year long deficit. There have been close calls, but they haven’t been able to pull it off. With such a long time Washington fans were really hyping them up.
When sports situations like this occur with an underdog team attempting to really pull it off, it is a tough situation, but it really brings the crowds in to watch and that was shown at the National Championship.
When a championship game of this high margin happens a lot of talks get brought about coaching, players, team play and way more. It gets people interested in watching the game seeing if the underdog can beat the odds or the favorite falling under pressure and coming up short to mistakes. There was a lot of talking going on favoring Michigan to win the game and Washington failing under pressure.
Michigan came out really strong, receiving the ball first and scoring in less than six game clock minutes. Washington, however, did not come out so ready, driving down field, drawing the clock of the first quarter to three minutes and being forced to make a field goal.
That really described the day for Washington not really doing much and scoring only one touchdown and the rest being field goals. That is the sad part of the game, but Michigan really came out to play and had amazing defensive play and truly lived up to the hype they received. Michigan worked hard and lost a lot by losing valuable play makers, but they came back and showed it’s how to get up after a hard fall, leading them to become 2024 College National champions.

Michigan truly worked hard and lost a lot by losing valuable play makers, but they came back and showed it’s how you get up after you take a hard fall, becoming 2024 College National champions.
The championship game was held at NRG stadium in Houston Texas, home to the Popular NFL team Houston Texans that has a seating capacity of 72,220.
