On December 27, 2023, Dutch Bros released a new feature that could be added to any iced drink which included edible glitter, otherwise known as, “Shine.” This edible glitter could be put into any rebel, tea, lemonade, soda, or cold brew to make the drink sparkle.

Dutch Bros shine was a mix of edible glitter and cane sugar syrup which would make the drink sparkle with happiness. This add-on feature to any drink was only $1. 

In the local Los Banos Dutch Bros location, the shop was very busy and the Shine feature had people coming back for more. This offer was supposed to last until January 14, 2024 but the local location ran out very quickly, only lasting a week. Many students came through the shop and ordered the sparkly drink. 

From many local customers, we have heard constantly, “this feature makes my drink beautiful! I am sad to hear it ran out so quickly.” One customer who is considered a regular at the Los Banos Dutch Bros, Yahir Zuniga (11), described the shine feature in his rebel as, “very flavorful and unique compared to other coffee locations.” 

A surprise for the local Dutch fans, Dutch Bros will be releasing a new limited time drink that is red raspberry flavored with pink soft top in February to support their DutchLuv fundraiser. The drink is supposed to be considered a “Valentine favorite,” since it is a Valentine’s day color. The shine feature was a great success at Dutch Bros, which will hopefully make a return soon.
