Boys varsity baseball kicked off about a month ago and the 24’ season seems to get off to a hot start. The Tigers first two games ended in losses, but after those loses they rebounded and are on a six game win streak.
The Tigers are led by new Coach Ernie this season after Coach Pat left to Merced College to coach their baseball squad. Tigers are currently undefeated in their league after dominating scores against other schools.
First baseman, Eric Moncada (11), described the early feeling of the team and how they are performing, “Our season is off to a good start our pitchers have kept damage very minimal in games along with our lineup being able to put balls in play and get runners on. I’m very excited for the season.”
The Tigers overall record so far is 6-2 as of March 20.
Catcher, Jonathan Camarillo (12), gave his thoughts on the beginning of the season, “So far our season is going very well. We’re really playing together as a team and playing to our full potential. I think if we keep playing the way we are we can make it far and accomplish a lot.”
The Tigers made the playoffs last year but were eliminated in the first round. The hope around the team is to do better than last season and get a blue banner for the school.
The next game for the Tigers will be March 22 at Grace Davis High School as they look to continue their winning streak.
