Los Banos High School Career Center hosted a Career Fair in the MPB room on March 15. The event lasted from 8:30am-1:10pm with a variety of booths providing information about future career and employment opportunities for students.
Some booths that were present include police and firefighter law enforcement agencies, cosmetology, Morning Star Tomato company. The companies provided information for students to get a better understanding of their future careers. Lots of booths had different merchandise and prizes for students to win and remember their booths. Most of the booths had a spinning winner wheel which determined what prizes the students would leave with. Prizes consisted from pencils and candy, to stress balls shaped as tomatoes and tigers.
Jasmin Nieves (12), was a helper who participated in the event by serving snacks and water bottles to the vendors and employees that came to the career fair. She said, “The career vendors were so nice and had such an encouraging mindset when it came to speaking with students at my school about what their future plans may consist of. I got the opportunity as well to speak to a lot of people there who gave me great advice since I want to be in the medical field. Students in my class also told me that they were influenced by a lot of the different careers in the gym.”
The Los Banos Career fair was a true success for the school and for students on campus. Thank you to Mrs. Gonzalez, our career counselor, who coordinated the entire event.
