Aiyln Mena (12) is a student at Los Banos High School who is involved primarily in band, part of multiple clubs, and is enrolled in many advanced placement classes.
Aiyln participated in jazz from sophomore year to senior year. She played the trumpet instrument sophomore year but then switched over to alto saxophone Junior year. She is a very well rounded musician, who also participated in color guard. She has expanded her horizons to new experiences over the years.
She has maintained a 4.0 gpa and has a heavy academic load with multiple advanced placement classes, such as Biology, Statistics, Literature and Composition, Government, and Economy. She also obtained the Seal Of Biliteracy certification for being fluent in English and Spanish. She is academically thriving and no doubt has a bright future ahead of her.
Mena said, “It’s been a challenging journey, but I still have so many goals and dreams ahead of me.”
She actively participates in many clubs. She was president of the Dance Club her sophomore year, and this year, she is secretary for Debate club and secretary for the Future Business leaders of America club. She has been keeping her plate full with many extracurriculars that helped her on the right path towards her goals.
She decided to further pursue her passions at The University of California, Irvine, in which she’ll study political science in order to pursue her law career in the future.
Mena said, “I want to become a lawyer to have a voice and defend those in need of justice.”
Law school is all about studying the law, learning legal principles, and preparing for a career in the legal field. It’s a lot of hard work, but can be really rewarding. She wants to become an attorney/lawyer to later on become a judge, and she’s on the way to reaching her goals.
