Larry Borelli was awarded the Clarke Coover scholarship by the Sac Joaquin Section. He received the top scholarship of $1500.
The top male and female scholar athletes were selected by each of the sections 200 schools. Then each of the 26 leagues in the section advanced their top male and female nominees.
Fifty-two scholar athletes then were eligible for one of six $1000 scholarships and two $1500 scholarships.
