Golf is described as a game of precision and patience, where every stroke counts. At Los Banos High School our Varsity Girls Golf team has shown incredible dedication and skill this season.
The team has had a rough start to the beginning of their season, but they show great promise. Despite the initial setbacks, the team has demonstrated resilience and a strong work ethic. Their dedication and determination suggest that they have the potential to turn their season around.
Harlee McBride (12) is a co-captain on the Golf team this year and has been a great leader. Her positive attitude and dedication really inspires the team. McBride said, “What I enjoy the most about golf is getting to play with the other girls because we’ve created great friendships.”
McBride has been on the golf team all four years of her high school career. She said, “I hope to just do the best I can at each match and have fun while I’m doing it.”
Hayden Frigard (12) has been on the golf team for three years and thoroughly enjoys golfing. Frigard said that she prepares for a golf match by, “Hitting golf balls on the driving range and then working on the putting green to perfect my short game.”
Frigard’s advice for any new golfers is to “Have fun; that’s the most important thing. I would also say to stay patient and enjoy the game. It’s hard to have fun when you get frustrated.”
The next golf match is October 1, 2024 at Rancho Del Rey’s golf course.
