Among the many clubs at Los Banos High School, Olivia Hew (9) and Gloriana Hernandez (9) are forming a new club called, The Book Club.
Applications are being finalized if students want to join by going to room 513 or meet with the officers or Mrs. Thacker.
People who love to read and share a passion for sharing their opinions on books can join in as the club is hoping to find a community through shared reading. Once the club begins they aim to meet once a month.
The club members can expect to read and critique the books from last month, and they will participate in a vote on what they want to read next.
The officers expressed that “Nothing is set in stone yet, but the books we most want to read are The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barners, One of us is Lying by Karen M. McManus, and The Hate you Give by Angie Thomas.”
Outside of reading, an event that the club officers would like to attend is Trunk or Treat. Trunk or Treat is when the people decorate car trunks and put out candy for anyone who wants to stop by. They want to do other events but they are still thinking about other events to do.
If people are interested in reading and sharing ideas with others, then join the Book Club. See Mrs. Thacker for more information.
