Los Banos High School Drama Club students will be doing the first play of the school year,  Happy Birthday Dear Grandpa, at the high school on November 14, 15, and 16.

“Happy Birthday Dear Grandpa” is about a paranoid and bad-tempered Grandpa who believes his three grandchildren are trying to kill him for their inheritance. Grandpa suddenly dies at his surprise party, and his grandchildren become suspects.

Tickets to watch the performance will be $5 and will be available to purchase online or in person with cash. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, the 14th, Friday, the 15th.  Performances will start at 6 p.m. On Saturday, the 16th, the doors will open at 12:00 p.m. and the performance starts at 12:30 p.m. The doors will open again at 5:30 p.m. and the performance will start at 6:00 p.m.

Ms. Alyssa Zorra, the Drama Club advisor and her students will be included in the play, while other students will be controlling props. Band and choir students will also be involved with the performance by playing background music and small performances during breaks between the performances.

“The play has a fun script, and it’s funny to see everyone’s takes on the characters,” said Marshall Rodriguez (12).
