The LULAC club hosted their annual Spanish Heritage Night for Hispanic Heritage Month on October 14. This celebration included food, music, and many other activities that are a part of the Spanish heritage.
The food that was served at this event were tamales, Mexican wedding cookies, churros, pan dulce, and many other foods that clubs such as the Wellness Club and LULAC provided. There was also a taco truck for all of the guests to enjoy. Many clubs other than LULAC also had booths with a variety of different foods and items to fundraise money for various activities and advertise their club to everyone who attended.
“I really enjoyed attending Spanish Heritage Night and advertising our club to all of the students. It was a great experience and I am excited to go again next year,” said Sabrina Reynoso (11).
This year’s Spanish Heritage Night also included traditional folklore dancing and a live band that played music for everyone to dance. This celebration had Aztec dances for their guests to enjoy and there was a booth for quinceanera dresses.
Hispanic Heritage month goes on from September 15 to October 15 and its purpose is to celebrate and pay a tribute to the Hispanic culture and achievements they have had. This event also provides an opportunity to learn and discover more about the contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans.
