Holidays are special occasions where people get together with friends, family, and coworkers. There are different holidays people prefer because they either mean something to them or they just prefer it.
Students at LBHS were asked about which holiday they prefer and if there is a meaning behind that holiday that makes it their favorite or if it’s just because they prefer it.
Victoria Iniguez (12) said, “I prefer Christmas because that is the month that Jesus was born in and because I love to spend time with my family and that is when we all get together and enjoy a good dinner together.”
Aimar Armenta (12) also states that Christmas is her favorite but she said, “ I like Christmas because that is the time I get to go to Mexico and visit my family and also because of the food; I love the food they make for Christmas.”
Although there were many other students who said that they prefer Christmas, some students also said they prefer Halloween because of the spooky vibes it gives once you step outside. According to Marley Zevala (12) she stated, “I love Halloween because that is when the weather gets so nice and because of all the spooky decorations people put up and more because I love to dress up.”
As the holidays are approaching, people are beginning to plan ahead to make sure they have everything ready and prepared. Many are starting to make a list of gifts that they need to buy and taking advantage of the early sales and discounts to avoid the last minute stress of trying to buy all gifts at once.
