As the coming seasons bring more activities, the Art Club is hosting many events in the next few months on campus. These activities are to fundraise money for the club, and to involve students in art.
Mrs. Sagouspe, the club advisor, shared that in the coming months there will be many activities that all have to do with art. Upcoming events include the Fall Art Show, pumpkin decorating contest, Trunk or Treat, and more. These activities will benefit the members of the Art Club, as well as students participating in the contests, and anyone who wishes to participate.
Sagouspe said, “These contests are not only for students in art classes, but good exposure for students who aren’t in art classes, too.”
This month of October, the club is hosting a pumpkin decorating contest and a Fall Art Show. The pumpkin contest requires students to purchase a $2 plastic pumpkin, which then they can decorate, and turn in to be judged by other students at the Fall Art Show. Each decorated pumpkin is due on the day of Halloween, October 31, in the MPB.
The Fall Art show is a yearly event the Art Club hosts to display student’s art, ranging from pottery to paintings and everything in between. The show also takes place on October 31, in the MPB. All students and staff are welcome to attend and see the art created by students during pride time and lunch. At the art show, there will also be hot chocolate available for purchase for $2 with a cup to decorate, and an extra $1 for toppings and syrup.
As well as these events, the Art Club is participating in the Halloween Trunk Or Treat on October 26 at 5 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with multiple clubs to hand out candy to families who wish to trick or treating on campus in the quad.
The Art Club hosts these events and activities as fundraisers to support the club’s field trip at the end of the year. All of the money they make, funds the club and their future activities as well.
Students who would like to join the club can attend the meetings every first Tuesday of each month. The next meeting will be held on November 5, in room 508 during pride time. All students are welcome to join, and participate in the many activities the club has to offer.
