Between September and October, the Los Banos FFA has had two very busy and successful months.
From September 3, 7, and 8, members from the chapter went to the Los Banos Art Council to help set up and clean up. September 9 was the Los Banos FFA’s second meeting of the year where they discussed future activities and brought vitamins for the children of Guatemala. Over 150 bottles of vitamins were donated.
On September 10 the chapter officers attended the Merced Mariposa Sectional Chapter Officer Leadership Conference where they learned valuable leadership skills to implement this school year.
On September 12, Los Banos FFA served the Farm to Fork dinner and received a $1000 dollar check for the FFA’s scholarship program from the downtown association.
On September 17 the Los Banos FFA held their annual baseball competition between the members and teachers from the high school. This time, they tied 14-14.
On September 19 they put together dinners and served Pork Loin Drive Thru dinner. They sold over 350 tickets.
They took five members to Cast for Kids on September 21. Cast for Kids gives us the opportunity to take children with special needs on a fishing trip.
On October 7 they hosted their 3rd FFA meeting of the year where they held their annual costume contest. The top three winners (not in order) were Gabriela Brazil (12), Anthony Orozco (11), and Shaun Allison (9).
FFA congratulates the Cotton Judging team A for placing 3rd and B team for placing 4th at the Corcoran Cotton Contest on October 12.
October 14 was the Greenhand Leadership Conference where we took 18 of our freshmen to learn about leadership and what it takes to be a leader.
On October 16 we took four Greenhand teams to compete in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies contest in Gustine where they all placed at gold level.
October 19 FFA competed at the Hanford Cotton Contest.
And finally, from October 22-30 the FFA program is sending a group of students to Indianapolis for the National State FFA convention and Washington D.C.
