As seniors approach the end of their high school journey, their plans for the future often become a major focus. Many students are considering a variety of paths such as attending college, entering the workforce, joining the military, or taking a gap year.
This time is filled with excitement and uncertainty as they navigate through important decisions that will shape their future. It is a time for exploring interests, setting goals, and making choices that align with their passions and aspirations. Whether they are planning to pursue higher education, start their own career, or take time to explore the world, each senior’s journey is unique and full of potential.
Adrianna Hernandez (12) said, “I plan on going straight into a Phlebotomy School in Fresno.” Phlebotomy is the process of making a puncture in a vein, usually in the arm, with a cannula for the purpose of drawing blood.
Hernandez chose to go into this specific field of study because she “loves learning about different types of blood and what makes each type different.”
Hernandez plans on attending a school that specifically specializes in Phlebotomy to get the absolute best results in her education. Hernandez shares, “I am definitely scared to leave high school and start a real adult life, but I know I’ll always have my friends and family to help me along the way.”
Irma Cortez (12) plans to attend college after her senior year. She said, “I’m planning on attending Cal Poly, Long Beach, or Fresno State.”
Cortez has been doing FFA all four years of high school and it has played an important role in her decision on what to major in. Cortez said, “I plan to major in Agriculture.”
As for her thoughts on leaving high school and starting the next chapter, she said, “I feel good leaving high school, but at the same time I’m going to miss it, I’m ready to see what college holds for me.”
High school seniors face an exciting crossroads as they decide their next steps towards the rest of their lives. The PawPrint Newspaper always runs senior college acceptances in the spring. In addition, the MPB wall has been turned into an acknowledgement for senior acceptances.
