The Los Banos FFA officers have a crucial role in representing and leading their chapter. Each person is elected by their peers and each has a very important role and different responsibilities to ensure the overall success and function of the chapter.
Zoey Wooten, the Vice President does many things in the FFA aside from being an officer. She does Dairy Judging, public speaking and shows a lamb as well. Her job is very important in assisting the president and organizing and planning events and has a big speaking role.
One challenge for Wooten is working with others. Wooten stated, “Sometimes I have to remind myself that I’m a part of a team and that it’s not just me, and I have to communicate with the rest of the officers.”
Wooten has goals and aspirations as being an officer such as influencing people who don’t come from an agricultural background and inspiring them to be leaders. Wooten stated, “Another goal of mine is to help within our community and represent the Los Banos FFA with honor, respect and integrity.”
Another officer, Jaci Bretz who is the reporter, has a very big and important job as well. She is in charge of all news releases and documenting chapter events through pictures and articles.
Bretz had been inspired to be a part of the officer team since she was a little girl. Her dad being one of the advisors she grew up around it and was inspired by past officers and wanted to be just like them. Bretz stated, “Through these events, I had the opportunity to meet past officers and I was always inspired by these officers. It has always been a dream of mine to become one since I was a little girl.”
She has hopes to inspire young agriculturalists like she was at such a young age. Bretz loves what she does and wants to help the Los Banos FFA chapter in every way that they can grow.
Both girls feel that the year has gone great so far with few challenges and can’t wait for what’s to come with the rest of the school year.
These two officers are just a small part of a big team and help tremendously with what they each do. There is the President Jaylene Barriga, Secretary Karley Rocha, Treasurer Nathan Campiotti, and Sentinel Leah Rogers.
