As Thanksgiving is just around the corner, it makes time for many to gather with family and friends to enjoy a delicious meal and reflect on the things they’re grateful for. What remains is one of the most important questions, what’s the best food for Thanksgiving?
Students were asked to share their thoughts on which Thanksgiving dish is their favorite. Ranging from macaroni and cheese to cranberry sauce, the students had many different ideas of which food is best for a Thanksgiving meal.
Dasha Xolio (12) said, “Cranberry sauce is my favorite because it’s a good side dish for Thanksgiving.”
Many students prefer traditional Thanksgiving foods over others while celebrating the holidays with family and friends. Although, after asking ten students, most said that mac and cheese is one of the best foods for this holiday.
Melani Almanza (11) said, “Mac and cheese is my favorite Thanksgiving food ever because of the melted, creamy cheese goodness.”
Traditional foods for Thanksgiving include turkey, ham, corn bread, mashed potatoes and gravy, yams and more, with desserts, like pumpkin and pecan pies.
A traditional holiday food lover, Melody Dutra (11) said, “I like mashed potatoes because they’re delicious and a staple of Thanksgiving meals.”
Melanie Rodriguez (11) also said her favorite food was a Thanksgiving classic, “I like ham because it goes good with foods like mashed potatoes and mac and cheese.”
Thanksgiving is known for its traditional foods and the feasts held in order to celebrate it, but being thankful for family and friends is most important. As Thanksgiving comes closer, what favorite foods will be present on your table?
