As Christmas approaches, the Art Club initiated a festive activity on campus this year, with their paper tree display in the MPB. From December 9 until December 20, students can decorate the tree with the paper ornaments.
The Christmas tree encourages students to be creative while also helping community building within the school. The tree is a follow up to the Art Club’s “Thankful Turkey” project from last year. Instead of repeating last year’s project, the club decided to create a tree decorated with student-made ornaments.
The idea of this project is centered around student participation; its purpose is to have the whole campus be involved with art and collaborate together.
Mrs. Sagouspe, the Art Club’s advisor said, “The Art Club likes to provide collaborative art pieces that the whole school can participate in.”
Students can design and decorate their own ornaments during break or lunch all week until Friday December 20. Each student will be allowed to color a paper ornament, which then will be placed on the paper Christmas tree located on the wall in the MPB.
The club decided to make a paper tree with ornaments this holiday season instead of any other ideas to try something new and engaging for the students.
Sagouspe said, “We just knew we wanted something different from the turkey; this idea was fun and interesting!”
By offering this activity, the Art Club hopes to spread spirit and creativity. So far, the project has brought students in a fun and artistic way.
If you haven’t decorated an ornament yet, don’t miss your chance to join in this collaborative activity by December 20 in the MPB.
