As the year of 2024 is coming to an end, many students begin to set goals to achieve in the new year. Some students may set personal and mental goals while others may choose to set physical goals for themselves to make positive changes in our lifestyle. A new year means that it’s a fresh start to try something one hasn’t done before, so here are some achievable goal ideas for 2025.
Some personal and mental resolutions are to read more or to write in a journal. Reading and writing is a great way to relieve stress and reduce anxiety. Some may also choose to improve their grades over the new year as well. Micah Madera (11) stated, “My New Year’s resolution is to get good grades.” This is a great way to be motivated and try hard to do well in school.
Another option is to try new hobbies like painting or coloring. These are some hobbies that could help anyone to be more creative in the new year. It’s very important to do something that is creative and relaxing every once in a while, it could be something that you turn out to really enjoy doing.
In the new year, people sometimes choose to improve themselves physically as well. An option for this is to exercise more and eat healthier. Something that also can be done is to create a daily workout plan that fits the school schedule or find an exercise that you enjoy doing. Exercise ideas are riding your bike, going running, going for walks, or lifting weights. If students would like to eat healthier, you can find meal plans or just create a goal to eat more fruits and vegetables.
Some resolutions that students can make are to save money or to spend it more wisely. This is a good idea because you can make more responsible choices with money. Paola Anguiano (11) stated, “My goal for the New Year is to improve my finances.” If you want this to be your New Year’s resolution, you can set a goal to apply for jobs or help others with housework to earn a little bit of money.
2025 could be an amazing opportunity to pursue a lot of things that you would like to learn or achieve. Students can create new habits and change their lifestyle in a positive way.
