As the end of the year approaches it is important for seniors to keep deadlines in mind in order to stay on top of all the events and things to get done prior to graduation.
One of the many purchases seniors make are the cap and gowns, yearbooks, senior recognitions and Grad Nite. Many students purchase yearbooks to look back on memories, and relive highlights from the year. For those students who worked on the yearbook it’s a nice way to see all the hard work they put in.
One nice feature about the yearbook is the senior recognition pages. Senior recognition pages are for parents, grandparents, and or family members who want to show their appreciation and how proud they are of their graduating seniors.
Other events that seniors can look forward to are school dances and Grad Nite.
Some dances the school holds are Winter Formal and Prom. Winter Formal is for all the students, and Prom is mainly for seniors and occasionally juniors. Prom provides dinner, music, and transportation. Grad Nite is a special night time event that is held for seniors to have a fun time with friends.
Madison Garcia (12) shared all of the things she is doing for senior year. She will be purchasing a yearbook so she can look back on her favorite memories. She has recently purchased a cap and gown.
Garcia stated, “I did not apply to UC’s or CSU’s, but I did apply to community colleges and the applications were easy, I have already been accepted to quite a few.”
She is in a club which is called S Club. S Club is a club to help women in need. “I joined just to be more involved not only with my school but with my community. I am pretty excited to get a cord, I think that is a great accomplishment,” said Garcia.
Garcia is going to Winter Formal. She is currently dress shopping and the color she is going for is pink. The person she is going with is her best friend. The same thing for Prom, except she isn’t going dress shopping till the time gets closer.
She is going to Grad Nite and said “I am very excited. I can’t wait. I went to Disney once when I was younger.”
When asked if her family member was going to purchase a senior recognition page she responded yes, her dad is. Lastly she is taking senior photos with a personal photographer at a couple beaches sometime next year.
Don’t forget to have an amazing senior year and to participate and be involved as much as you can!
