The boy’s soccer season is in full swing, and with each match, excitement builds as teams battle for dominance.
The varsity boy’s soccer team has started the season strong. The boys soccer team is in a new league but then will be challenged with the new teams they will play this upcoming season.
Dayron Alatriste (12) said, “I’m excited for this season because we’re in a new league with new different teams and I’m trying to see if we could make it to the playoffs again this season.”
Alatriste said, “What made me do soccer was because my parents are big soccer fans, and I always had interest in the sport when I was little.’’ One of Alatriste’s favorite parts about playing soccer is “playing tournaments with my teammates while making good memories with them.”
The boy soccer team has won six preseason games and players feel like this is going to be a strong season.
Javier Garcia (12) said, “I’m most excited to play my senior night game with my friends.” Making friends is really important and getting along with the team. Garcia plays center back on the team.
Garcia said, “I got into soccer because my older siblings would play as well.” One of Javier’s favorite things is “all the tournaments.”
Kobe Solano (12) has been playing soccer for all four years of high school. One thing Solano is most excited about this season is “the bus rides with my teammates and being able to play with my little brother.”
Solano is a starter for the varsity soccer team. Solano wanted his last season to be fun and to make lots of memories. “ My favorite part about playing soccer is playing with my friends,” he said.
The next soccer game is on January 10. They will play home against Atwater. Varsity will play at 5:45 p.m.
