Students reflect on their bucket lists and different things they’ve wanted to do from accomplishments in school to trips and big purchases.
Most students when asked what was on their bucket list shared a variety of things, such as big purchases to completing different projects and creating experiences. One student, Joanna Monobe (12) shared different things off of her bucket list which included learning how to ice skate, traveling the world, visiting different countries such as Canada and Italy, and attending an Olivia Rodrigo and a Tate Mcrae concert. Along with these, Monobe also explained how she wanted to graduate from a university and buy her dream car.
When asked why she wanted to pursue these she shared, “I want to learn how to ice skate because I really enjoy hockey, and I really wanted to be an ice skater when I was younger.”
Similarly, another student Naiely Delgado (12) said that she wants to go to a Rauw Alejandro concert, graduate from college, and buy a Chevy Silverado truck, stating, “I would like to accomplish my goals independently.”
When asked about how she would reach these goals Delgado said, “I can work towards these goals by working very hard and taking it day by day.”
As students reflect on their future goals, a common theme that comes up is the importance of hard work. Students responded by sharing how in order to fulfill different things on their bucket lists they would have to work hard in the moment in order to be in a position to fulfill it later.
Another student, Ximena Fajardo (12) shared that she would like to go skydiving, travel to Japan, and buy her first house before 30. She wishes to have fun, travel, and achieve big things with her boyfriend alongside her.
Fajardo stated, “I want to be more fearless. I also want to travel somewhere that isn’t in the states, and I want to accomplish having a home and being settled to be able to live comfortably by 30.”
As these seniors are graduating, it is easier to have a bucket list because it helps them visualize what they want in the future and gives them something to dream about and to live for in the future.
