Yadira Ventura Martinez (12) finally celebrated her senior night for her last year playing on the soccer team at Los Banos High School on February 5 at the Loftin Stadium.
Martinez has been playing soccer for five years since middle school, to all four years of high school. Martinez enjoys playing soccer and puts in all the hard work to play well at her games. Martinez has balanced her school work, maintaining a strong GPA while taking LB2MC college classes and participating in sport practices, conditioning, and late night games.
Martinez was excited to participate in her Senior Night, having support from her friends and family for her big night. Martinez said, “I’m super excited to be a senior and celebrating my senior night with my family and friends coming to cheer me on.”
Martinez loves being on the team and getting the opportunity to make new friends and bond with the team. Martinez not only plays well at her games, but also has fun playing alongside her friends and cheering with one another their team’s victories together. Martinez said, “I had made so many memories but one of the best memories is playing in the rain and slipping all over the place.”
As Martinez’s time of playing soccer at the school begins to come to an end, she will miss her friends and the times she spent with the team. Martinez has mixed feelings that she will be leaving, but is happy with the time she has spent all her four years. Martinez is making the most of her senior year and keeping the last games she has special to her.
Even though it is Martinez’s last year playing on the soccer team at the school, she has had an amazing experience all her four years at LBHS and has unforgettable memories to look back on.
