As graduation day approaches, seniors are reflecting on the high point of their academic journey. With emotions that are running high, we asked a couple of them how it feels to be so close to graduation.
Julian Guinto (12) shared how he felt and he stated, “To be honest I feel great, I’m grateful for my family and friends for the support and help that they’ve given me. I know it’s not going to be easy after high school but I am confident in what my own path will bring, and I am ready to succeed further in life.”
Graduating high school also means leaving behind family and friends. For many seniors, the thought of having to leave behind family and friends is one of the toughest parts of graduation. Despite the sadness of having to say goodbye there is also a sense of excitement and having a purpose.
Marley Zavala (12) also stated how she was feeling and she said, “I feel a mix of excitement and nervousness now that I’m about to graduate. I’m so excited to start the next chapter of my life but also nervous to take the big step of leaving my friends and family by leaving out of state to go to school. Other than that I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
Going to college means more than just an escape from home it also means that it is a step toward personal growth and pursuing dreams. Knowing that they are leaving for a reason and knowing that college is the next step of becoming who they want to provide seniors with motivation to be able to get through the tough goodbyes.
Valeria Sanchez (12) shared, “ I feel nervous but excited at the same time. It’s definitely a bittersweet feeling. It’s almost like I can’t wait to graduate but I also wish time could slow down. I hope that the class of 2025 becomes successful and happy and I can’t wait to see what life has in store for everyone!”
For every senior who is about to graduate, this is an incredibly exciting time in their lives. After years of hard work and determination they are finally approaching the moment where all their hard work and efforts will be recognized and celebrated. Graduation is not just the end of a chapter, it is the beginning of another. May every senior continue to pursue their dreams with the same dedication they have shown all these years.
