The Art Club plans to visit the San Jose Museum of Art to have some fun art experiences on March 6.
The trip will include lots of fun activities for the students to do and will get to explore the museum together in a group and also individually if they would like to. The museum offers an one hour art experience where the students can be able to create any kind of art they would like. At 11:30 p.m. the students are provided a lunch at the “Bijan Cafe” in the museum with a sandwich, chips, and a drink lunch box.
In order to go on the trip, members of the club must meet a requirement of attending five meetings and three activities. Only 44 slots are available on the bus and are limited for some members to come.
Ivy Vera (12) is currently a part of the art club and so far has enjoyed it a lot. Vera is excited about the upcoming trip but has not yet completed all the requirements. Vera said, “The trip sounds really fun, and if I do get approved, I will be looking forward to looking at the art in the museum.”
The art club had done fundraisers and successfully had sold hot chocolate, pies, and done a pumpkin painting contest. Thanks to the club members helping out during their club’s fundraisers, the club is able to pay for the trip without anyone paying from pocket.
The art club president Guadalupe Ruano (11) has been in the art club for two years and is now helping assist Ms. Sagouspe with the trip meetings. Ruano wanted to make sure everyone’s opinions were heard on whether to pick between the San Jose Museum of Art or the Monterey Museum of Art for the trip location, so she put out a vote. Ruano said, “We like to have everyone’s opinion first, we brought it up in a couple of meetings and saw what everyone was suggesting. After that we had a poll on google classroom where people would vote.”
