On March 10, students will be taking a trip to the USC Monterey Bay to tour the campus. The field trip, organized by our CSUMB outreach counselor, Ms. Saucena Ramos, is designed to help the students explore college life and learn about how admissions work.
The students who were selected to go on this trip met A-G requirements, maintained good attendance, and had a strong academic performance. This experience will provide each student with university life, to help students decide if CSUMB is the right choice for them.
The itinerary includes a campus tour, an admissions and financial aid overview, an academic showcase, and a fun finale for students to enjoy. The admissions session will inform students about how to make college an affordable experience, while the academic showcase will talk about four exciting majors and departments.
To wrap up the day, students will take photos with Monte, CSUMB’s mascot, and have the chance to visit the campus bookstore to purchase gear.
This field trip is a great opportunity for students to not only visit a college campus but also prepare for their future academic and career paths.
Counselor Gonzales said, “Not many students have the opportunity to see a college or university campus. It also exposed students to career readiness.”
For many, this will be a student’s first time stepping onto a university campus, giving them the opportunity to experience an event that could shape their next steps after high school.
