On February 21, 2025 the Los Banos FFA Program held their annual Car Show. An event for students and faculty to show off their vehicles, from trucks to cars, old school and newer models were all displayed on campus.
This car show marks the end of FFA week on campus, and this year is the 2nd largest show FFA has put on. A total of 45 people entered their cars into this event. The organizer of the show, Mr. Rod Hill shared how this year there was an increase in off road vehicles.
Brodie Copeland (9) had been passionate about racing for the past two years, primarily driving a D1 microprint race car which he entered into the car show. Copeland shared that his car had been purchased from a family friend five years ago. When asked how he felt hearing the news that he had won, he expressed that he was surprised but excited.
Another winner, Mrs. Rosie Delgado shared what made her want to enter her husband’s 1950 Chevy 3100 truck in the show. Delgado explained, “I entered it because you don’t usually see many old-school trucks, and because it’s beautiful.”
One of the truck’s best features was its baby blue color with ghost flames. Delgado expressed that the ghost flames were one of her personal favorite aspects of the truck. Neither she nor her husband had expected to win, but they were both excited when they had found out.
Mr. Hill had supervised the car show making sure the event ran smoothly. One of the challenges he had faced was encouraging students to participate. Despite that, Hill had stated that his favorite part about hosting the event was “seeing all the cars and the people proud and happy of what they have.”
The car show was a memorable celebration of the FFA community, offering both participants and attendees a chance to appreciate the pride and passion behind each vehicle.
