State Testing is coming up in the school year of 2025 for juniors, this test will take place during April 22 to April 29. State testing for high school students is standardized testing required by the state and federal governments.
This test could be considered important because the purpose of it is that these exams test students’ progress in key subject areas, mostly English and Mathematics and help determine if schools are meeting educational standards. In addition, colleges use the scores to determine English and Math placements for the fall. If a student passes and is proficient in these two subjects, they can enroll in college courses, but if they score poorly, students will be required to take a lower level class first to demonstrate proficiency in the subject. This can be costly and time consuming for students who are excited about getting credits completed.
State stating isn’t marked as hard for students due to them having NWEA testing two times a year. Victoria De La Torre (11) stated “We usually always practice state testing every winter and spring since 3rd grade, although I feel good about taking this test for the most part, there isn’t much pressure about it.”
Part of this test is normally for the government to see how the students are doing at that high school and see if the school is meeting the requirements and is teaching the students what they need to complete high school, mostly involving math and English.
We wish luck to our 2025 Juniors with state testing this year!
