The beloved video game known as Minecraft released its own film based on the game to theaters this April. 

The popular video game Minecraft was released in 2009 by the company Mojang. The game has kept a consistent pace in being one of the most successful games being popular with all ages. The love for this game has been so strong that approval to make a movie was without question and the production for this film had started January of 2024.

With popular actor Jack Black playing the main character in the game “Steve” the movie had become highly anticipated amongst all fans of the game. Rotten tomato’s critics had rated the movie with a 48% rating but viewers themselves gave the movie a 88% percent approval, giving the movie mixed reviews all around. 

The movie follows with a portal opening and bringing the four main cast to the world of Minecraft and going on a quest to find their way back home with the help from Steve. The movie is filled with humor and happy go lucky moments with something chaotic happening in every moment and with the energy of Jack Black the movie is met with some hilarious acting.The movie has been showered with love from long time Minecraft fans with the movie making every different type of references throughout its screening showing the company’s love for its long time fans.  The acting in this movie was more silly than serious, the actors and actress embracing the role of having a good time rather than making a serious movie. The plot for it was pretty bland but the pace and the characters make up for the plot. The music used hyped the movie and engaged into the scenes, overall the movie is a good watch to have with a solid 7/10.

The Minecraft movie is a good fun watch for all ages and gives those who have never played Minecraft a world view into the game and gives a chance for many new players spreading the love of Minecraft!
