On April 22, Art Club hosted their Spring Art Show in the MPB, displaying students’ art pieces from every class. Alongside viewing the art, the club also had a crown making station for students interested in making their own art while visiting.
Every year during the Art Show, the Art Club likes to provide a free activity for the students on campus that’s creative and fun. Last year, the club did the Valentine’s Maker Station and this year they thought it would be fun to tie in an activity with the Spring Art Show.
This year, the club had received a large donation of pipe cleaners to be used for a Teacher Appreciation project that will be held May 6. Due to the excess amount of pipe cleaners that were left over, the club came up with the idea to make flower crowns as an activity with what they had left.
The activity was created to give students the opportunity to be creative and join in on art at the Art Show. Mrs. Sagouspe said, “The purpose was simple; get LBHS students to be creative and have fun!”
The station was open to all students during Pride Time and lunch, allowing anyone to bring out their creativity. At the end of the day, about 30 students had made flower crowns. Next year, there will be another great project to allow students to experience creating art and to have fun. Art Club hopes to see you there!
