The time is nearly here for graduation and all the other big senior events left for this school year. There are 19 days left of school before seniors become adults and have to go out in the real harsh world. There’s going to be a lot of responsibilities along the way and let’s hope they can manage to finish all of them responsibly.
The four big events left for the seniors are graduation, grad nite, senior walk, and senior ditch day. Graduation is going to be big because it is the time seniors have been waiting for since being a freshman. It is the only moment when we are able to make a name for ourselves and show everyone that attended the graduation our successes throughout our four years of high school, whether that be club achievements, school awards, and many more.
Grad nite is also a major event because it is hosted in Disneyland. It is going to be very exciting for the seniors who are attending this magical place because if it’s their first time going, then they’ll be able to enjoy it with friends and explore locations while being there. After you’re done with the experience at Disney, they then move to the park across the way called California Adventures. They will have DJs and places to dance and show off special moves seniors have been practicing for. I personally think it is a good idea to attend grad nite because you get to go out of town with friends and it is only once in a lifetime and also enjoy your stay at Disneyland and California Adventures.
Senior ditch day is the day where seniors will be able to skip a day of school and go places they planned on going with friends, family and other loved ones. They can go out of town and visit places they’ve always wanted to go to. I personally will be going hiking myself with my girlfriend, so we can both enjoy the beautiful scenery that they have and enjoy the beach with some food after the hike.
Another big event that happened on April 12 was prom. It was an amazing place to experience. They had boat rides, food and drinks available at all times, and an amazing DJ with a dance floor. Personally, I enjoyed the food they served. They had steak which was pretty good, the mashed potatoes was my personal favorite side that they gave out. Students stayed there for four hours which was plenty of time to get their photos and videos of the beautiful scenery. The most important part of prom was when they were announcing the Prom King & Queen. The winners for Prom King & Queen were myself, Omar Blas (12) and my girlfriend, Yadira Ventura (12). I felt like a God when I received the crown on my head. It was the best time of life. I couldn’t stop thinking about how I won Prom King. It was definitely a memorable night for me and my girlfriend, soon to be my high school sweetheart.
My plans after high school is to attend a trade school in Sacramento called UTI. UTI has so many plans for me and my future which is what I like most about that school. It offers help finding a job if you’re having trouble finding one and are very supportive in decisions you make. UTI has courses that mainly focus on the career you want to pursue later on in the future and is hands on one hundred percent which is what I like about UTI.
