Admission Accomplished gives students a platform to share their information to their commitment on a college admission and showcase their individual paths to success, both during their college years. Celebrating our seniors, this series highlights each student’s name, chosen major, and the college they’ve committed to as they take their next big step toward the future.
Ivy Vera (12) is committed to UC Santa Barbara, and she chose it because of its great location and the academic opportunities it offers.Vera (12) is pursuing a major in History of Art and Architecture, with hopes of working at a museum in the future.
Vera said, “After undergraduate studies, I plan to pursue a master’s degree and eventually find a job in my field.” She will be living in a dorm during her first year, and she is excited about the opportunity to study abroad and join clubs on campus.
Gida Camacho (12), on the other hand, is committed to Cal Poly. Camacho said, “ I chose it because I love the town and wanted to be near the coast.”
She is majoring in Chemistry, a subject she’s really good at. Camacho will also be staying in dorms her first year and hopes to eventually move into an apartment. Outside of her studies, she looks forward to having fun, exploring the town, and spending time at the beach. While Camacho isn’t sure what career she wants to pursue yet, she is excited to take her time to explore and figure it out.
These examples highlight what it takes to be able to commit to a CSU or UC by meeting with campus counselors, having to do your FAFSA appointments, making your applications before they’re due and so much more to selecting and planning that day of college acceptance.
