The Track and Field team recently had their CCC championship meet. Ten people qualified and moved onto sectionals. Prelims took place on May 14 and finals are May 16.
The girls 4×1, girls 4×8, and boys 4×4 moved on to compete at sections, and then individually, Ava Felix for 100m hurdles and long jump.
The girls 4×8 include, Siena Freitas, Madelyn Silva, Dian CorralEstrada, and Yacqeline AguirreRoman. These girls placed 10th overall with a time of 11.01
The girls 4×1 includes, Siena Freitas, Madelyn Silva, Ava Felix, and Alexandra Torres Vega. They placed 18th overall with a new PR of 52.89.
The boys 4×4 includes, John Medina, Joseph villagrana, Jeffrey Wilhite, and Jose Morin. The boys placed 20th overall ending the season with a PR of 3.39.94.
Head coach of track and field, Mr. Salaz feels very proud of these individuals considering how competitive the new league is and how hard it is to make it to this level.
Salaz stated, “I’m overall proud of everyone and how well they competed and ending the season with so many PRs and I’m looking forward to seeing what these athletes can do next season.”
At this level these athletes are competing against all division 3 schools in the San Joaquin Valley making the competition even harder
