Every freshman comes to high school with one main goal in mind: senior year. And being a senior, a month away from graduation there’s a lot of emotions going into the end of senior year.
Senior year is something that happens so quickly it’s hard to expect it when the year ends. All the advice given about senior year you don’t realize its reality until you’re at the end of the school year.
The days go by fast, and it could be the sixth month of school and you still feel like you’re in the first month of your senior year.
Events and dates go by quickly, and you really have to be on top of knowing your grades and everything your senior year has to offer. Being a senior really makes you reflect on your past school years, especially your freshman year. You’ll think about the first dance you attended before you go to prom and you’ll think about your elementary school graduation when you’re a few weeks away from your high school graduation.
Freshman year is new and scary, there’s a lot of things you’ll go through that really solidify your high school experience. Make the most of this year as it’ll be the one you’ll be thinking about the most when you’re older. Have a bunch of fun, go to the football games with friends and go out even if you’re a little lazy about it. Freshman year is all about new feelings, new friends, and the beginning of the memories of your high school experience. I recommend getting your required classes all done this year, so you have more freedom on electives and can choose something you want to do.
Sophomore year you’ll get used to the feeling of being in high school staying on top of your grades this year because it’ll really come in handy to have good grades for your junior year. Take your sophomore year easy, and don’t over stress yourself, learn to not procrastinate and really strive to do your best academically. That’s something I recommend a lot to do as someone who regrets not really focusing on grades as a sophomore.
Junior year is really exciting. You’re almost done with school and you’re almost a senior. Grades really matter at this point. Staying on top of everything will not only do you good then but it will serve you right in the future. Don’t skip school and don’t do anything that you know will get you in a bad situation. Take classes that will help you or give you a challenge but never choose a class you know you would procrastinate and hate to work on. Be smart, but also have fun.
Some advice I can give is live your senior year to the fullest extent that you can. Don’t be afraid to go out with friends and meet new people, don’t skip a dance just because it might be lame. Experience everything your senior year has to offer and make the most of the year so you can say when you’re older your senior year is something you miss rather than something you regret.
